THE WALL

The WWII Monument will be constructed at Columbia Park and will consist of black granite veneer walls engraved with the names of approximately 160,000 individuals held in wartime camps across the United States. The monument will include interpretive educational panels, access pathways, van-accessible parking, and restroom facilities. This project will be the first of its kind in the United States.

WALL ENGRAVING DETAIL

The City of Torrance is working with Dr. Duncan Williams, who is the director of the Shinso Ito Center for Japanese Religion and Culture at the University of Southern California. to obtain the names that will be engraved on the walls.
