On December 17, 2024 the City of Torrance hired Chee Salette to develop a new monument design. There will be walls for each of the War Relocation Camps (WRA), and for the Department of Justice (DOJ)/Army Camps. These walls will list the names of those that were incarcerated there.

The monument, located at Columbia Park in Torrance, CA and will parallel Prairie Avenue along the east side of the park. The pathways will be illuminated at night for a dramatic effect.

The names on the walls will be written from top to bottom as is Japanese writing making for an artistic pattern when viewed from afar. These names will be provided by Dr. Duncan Williams via his Irei Project.
